For over 1000 years in the late 19th century, Kyoto was a city known to be the birthplace of numerous traditional Japanese arts that were handed down by local people for centuries.
In Kyoto, you can always find old-styled Japanese art, which is not very easy to find in other cities.
Watching, feeling, and understanding, at the end of the tour you can re-discover the Japanese traditions.
The Eastern side is known as Higashiyama district, where you can see old Japanese scenery.
If it is your first time in Kyoto, this tour could be a good start for your trip to learn about Japan and Kyoto.

Our tour starts with the Silver Pavilion which is well known for its beautiful garden and fascinating history. Above the Silver Pavilion, there are many delightful gardens loved by the locals. If you are interested I could also take you off the beaten path, avoiding the crowds, to see these beautiful Japanese gardens.

-
For our next stop, we visit an impressively huge shrine which was built to commemorate the 1100th anniversary of the foundation of Kyoto as the nation's capital.

-
After that, we will visit a lovely garden to compare a modern garden with traditional ones. This garden is not very famous yet, but it is very beautiful!

-
After the garden, we will also visit a temple that was traditionally owned by members of the imperial family.

-
At the end of the day, we will visit the Yasaka shrine, (which is one of Gion's main attractions) and Geisha streets. Depending on your interests, we could also finish the tour at the famous Pontocho restaurant street.
